Specific functions:

  • Compile lists of prospective companies for use as sales leads, based on GCA’s databases and other sources such as business directories, industry ads, trade shows and internet Websites.
  • Contact US companies via email, phone to offer GCA services in a daily basis. Include opportunities in a CRM system and follow up constantly.
  • Develop a visit plan in the Miami area for new clients. Provide demonstrations of GCA tools and services.
  • Goals oriented based on # of quotes and results obtained. Meet every week with the sales team analyzing data in order to reach metrics. Demonstrate ability to convert prospects and close deals.
  • Establish price to end users based on the Pricing Department direction. Explains credit and payment terms to client.
  • Provide input and direction on new products, and specific customer needs. Build strong customer rapport to maximize business opportunities and compensation.
  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of existing clients and new prospects.

Skills Required:

  • Outside Sales experience in the cargo/ shipping field required. Candidate must be familiar with shipping terms such as AWB, BOL, 20/40 Container, Warehouse receipt, etc…
  • Willingness to devote time and energy manage and build a sales territory.
  • Able to work independently to achieve results and positive attitude.
  • Enjoys the winning against the competition.
  • Passion for customer service and driven by financial rewards.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills. (Verbal and written).
  • Computer Literacy.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Quote the requirements made by the customers for import shipments, given the basic information for quote (product description, harmonized tariff schedule, country of origin, etc.)
  • Get all the documents and information from the shipper and importer needed to clear with customs in a prudent period of time.
  • Being a support not only for the customer but also for the whole Operation’s team, in all of the imports matters.
  • Keep updated the GCA CRM System, with all the information of the imports shipments. Elaborate and send invoices to customers for all import businesses.
  • Do constant follow up to the imports and exports shipments, and give status to the customers. Being in contact with the different airlines and shipping lines.
  • Continuous support to the Warehouse, Air and Ocean departments. Cover the Warehouse Supervisor when is necessary.
  • Support and assist customers in regards the warehouse management system (Magaya).
  • Other administrative activities, like sending checks to the vendors, file the documentation of the shipments, supplier’s invoices, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (green card) is a requisite for this position.
  • Min 2 year experience in the shipping industry.
  • Strong communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Good customer service.
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative without immediate local supervision.
  • Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills.
  • Computer Savvy. Knowledge of MS Excel and Internet.
